Ubix Therapeutics develops novel anti-cancer drugs based on Degraducer® platform technology.
Degraducer® is a powerful, next-generation inhibitor technology that enables targeting of disease-related targets that were previously undruggable.
We are developing novel anti-cancer therapies based on conscientious research and understanding of the human immune system and target proteins. Our goal is to increase life span and improve quality of life for affected patients.
BK Seo
Chief Executive Officer
BK Seo founded and has been serving as Chief Executive Officer of Ubix Therapeutics since June 2018. For over 20 years, he has conducted many projects in the bio/pharmaceutical industry, most notably, in R&D planning, business development, and funding. Prior to establishing Ubix Therapeutics, Mr. Seo was the head of business development at Genexine, where he spearheaded the process of establishing a joint venture with Ajinomoto as well as a licensing deal for long-acting human growth hormone with Handok. He also directed the in vitro diagnostics strategy team at SK Telecom and successfully secured several business deals with IVD companies including Tianlong, a Chinese biotech company, and NanoEntek. During his time at Lifecore Partners, a venture capital, Mr. Seo reviewed and managed investments for numerous biotech companies. He holds a B.S. in microbiology and a M.S. in immunology from Seoul National University.
Song-Hee Lee, Ph.D.
Research Director
SH Lee is the research director at Ubix Therapeutics. She joined Ubix in October of 2018 after more than a decade of research experience in academia as a molecular virologist. Dr. Lee received her Ph.D. in molecular virology from POSTECH and has studied molecular virology, immunology and drug discovery at University of Wisconsin-Madison and Emory University. Previously, Dr. Lee’s research focused on the molecular and cellular mechanisms of viral interactions with host cells and their mediation of pathogenesis in the body, and she was able to discover and file U.S. patents regarding antiviral drug candidates. Dr. Lee has currently published seven first-author papers in journals including Science Advances, PNAS and Hepatology and has co-authored many papers issued in journals such as Immunity, Elife and Journal of Immunology.
Je-Ho Ryu, Ph.D
Vice Research Director
JH Ryu is the director of Medicinal Chemistry and vice research director at Ubix Therapeutics. He joined Ubix in January of 2019 after 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry. Previously, Dr. Ryu worked at SK Chemicals where he directed several small-molecule drug discovery projects, including 11β-HSD1 inhibitor, RORγt inverse agonist, and ALK5 inhibitor. He pioneered multiple therapeutic programs across fields of endocrinology, immunology, and oncology, which have contributed to the advancement of several clinical candidates. Dr. Ryu headed the Open Innovation Department at Huons, where he organized collaboration deals and network R&D in fields including small molecule, microbiomes, and medical devices. JH Ryu received his Ph.D. in medicinal chemistry from Seoul National University.
Bo-Sun Suh
Chief Operating Officer
BS Suh, the CFO of Ubix Therapeutics, has served as a financial specialist for over 21 years in diverse industries including venture and finance. Prior to joining Ubix Therapeutics, Mr. Suh was the CFO at BioSquare, a diagnostic biotechnology company that develops platform technology for infectious diseases. Additionally, he has held positions as a partner at The.Wave.Talk, a bacteria detection sensing technology start-up, and as the head of strategy at Nongshim Capital, venture investment affiliate of Nongshim Group. BS Suh majored in economics at the Seoul National University.
Hye-Suk Hong
Director, Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls
HS Hong is the director of Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls at Ubix Therapeutics. Ms. Hong holds over 21 years of broadly diversified experience in pharmaceutical industry, having led multiple analytical and drug development programs.Prior to joining Ubix Therapeutics, Ms. Hong was the director of CMC at pH Pharma where she was responsible for overseeing API and DP Development as well as clinical supply chain and manufacturing. She has served as head of Research Center at Alvogen Korea and as head of the analysis team at Handok and CJ Healthcare. In her previous positions, she was primarily responsible for product development, process analytics, method development, and testing for both API and DP. HS Hong earned her M.S. in chemistry at Yonsei University.
